I'd love to hear more about the "Epic Bomb" too. I went to Nashville NYWC last year so missed it. Tony, you're one of my favorite authors for many reasons, so thanks for all you do!

Thanks Tony for sharing your insights and thoughts. You know both organizations well and I think had shed some good light on this transition.
My hope is that YS will continue to have the freedom it once did to push the envelops of ministry and ideas to the next generation of youth workers.
Times changes and perhaps this merging of ministries will actually help expand the influence of YS for the next few decades to come.
I just came back from the NYWC in Atlanta where the announcement was made and there was some tension and confusion for sure.
I choose to trust and be optimistic and (personally) hope you do continue to have opportunities and platforms to share with youth workers.
and P.S last year wasn't that bad!

Thanks Tony great insight. I was at the three conventions this fall and was around as everything slowly unfolded. What was initially shock and frustration slowly became hope and admiration as more people began to interact with the YouthWorks team. My two cents is they seem to be great people and clearly have a heart for youth ministry in a way that will definitely help shape the future in a great way. Change is always incredibly tough and tribal leadership change is probably one of the most difficult things to do. My prayers are for everyone involved still. Thank you for writing this. You have done a great job of being a peacemaker and voice of hope. I like that role for you.

Thanks for the back info. Very encouraging. I definitely missed Marko & Tic, etc. The feel of YS was very very different, but very very encouraging. I've been to some of your seminars & have enjoyed all the ones I've been to. Maybe it's the inisders that got the general session thing last year, was very bizarre to me, IDK if "epic bomb", but I still don't understand what that was about. Wish you'd (and others that weren't there) had been invited back, and I hope it was more for financial reasons than the general session "epic bomb". God bless!
